Ours is a small organic farm with just 5 hectares of vineyards, planted between 2004 and 2017. We are located on the northern slope of Volterra, beneath the Balze cliffs, facing the sea and Pisa. Our current production is around 25,000 bottles a year.

Genuino Del Duca, the founder, with his first harvest in 2007, can be considered a pioneer of modern viticulture in Volterra. His idea was to plant vineyards in this new area, where a winemaking tradition already existed in Etruscan times.

Now officially in its second generation, Claudia Del Duca carries on her father Genuino’s legacy with passion and dedication.

Due to the ancient presence of the sea in this entire area, our vines grow on clay-rich soil full of salts and minerals, above salt deposits and close to the local salt works. This is what sets us apart and gives our wines their distinctive minerality.

Our vines are cultivated with total respect for nature. Since 2021 we have been officially certified organic, although we have always farmed this way since our first plantings. Treatments are kept to a minimum, partly because the clay soil often makes it impossible — when wet, it turns into quicksand and we can’t get machinery in — but the constant breeze helps keep the vines dry.

In the cellar, we respect the natural character of our wines, striving to make them a true expression of the unique land they come from.

The estate is entirely family-run, from tending the vines to bottling, promotion, and sales.

At the moment, we produce wines from Vermentino, Sangiovese, Merlot, Ciliegiolo, and Pugnitello grapes.
